Performance Painting Contractors CC has traded in the greater Durban area since 1994 — 32 years. In that time we have completed over 3,000 projects across residential, commercial and industrial work.
Painting is an easy trade to enter and a difficult one to do properly. The accreditations below are independently issued, carry certificate numbers, and can be verified directly with the issuing body. We publish them so you don’t have to take our word for anything.
Master Builders Association — Full Member
Membership number 16031. Full Member of the Master Builders Association KwaZulu-Natal, valid until 28 February 2027.
Full membership requires adherence to a code of conduct and gives our clients access to the Association’s dispute resolution process — protection you do not get with an unaffiliated contractor.

Plascon Preferred Applicator
Certificate number 440, valid 1 January 2026 – 31 December 2026.
Preferred Applicator status is issued by Plascon against defined business process criteria. It is reviewed annually and can be withdrawn, so it reflects current standing rather than a historic relationship.

Dulux — Contractor Referral
ICI Dulux (Pty) Ltd, part of AkzoNobel, has issued a written letter of referral for the 2026 period confirming our accurate selection and application of Dulux products, and execution of work in accordance with the best painting practice guidelines set out in the Dulux Specification.
The letter is available on request for tender and specification purposes.
Insurance and Compliance
- Public liability cover of R5 million, underwritten by Hollard Insurance Company. Confirmation of cover available on request.
- Letter of Good Standing — Compensation Fund.
- Full OSH Act compliance — Occupational Health and Safety.
- BEE compliant.
Approved Paint Systems
We are not tied to a single manufacturer. We specify and apply Plascon, Dulux, Prominent Paints, Prodec, Stoncor and Midas, which means we recommend the right system for your substrate and exposure rather than the one we are obliged to sell.
Who We Work For
Over 32 years we have been appointed by national property management groups, residential estates, schools, hotels and industrial clients across KwaZulu-Natal. A contractor’s client list is the least fakeable thing about them.
Property Management Groups
We have completed painting contracts for Broll, Trafalgar, Maxprop, JT Ross, Attlee Agency, Eris Property Group, Ballito Estates and Wakefields.
Managing agents do not re-appoint contractors who miss deadlines, cut corners or generate complaints from residents. These are repeat relationships, not once-off jobs.
Estates, Complexes and Body Corporates
Past and current projects include:
- Mount Edgecombe Country Club Estate
- Somerset Valley Estate
- Sienna Estate
- Elaleni Estate
- Ocean Dunes
- Pebble Beach
- 52 Chartwell Drive
Commercial, Retail and Industrial
- Concord Retail Solutions
- Bluff Meat Supply
Education
- Durban Girls’ College
- Kearsney College
Hospitality
- Upton Hall Boutique Hotel
Working in occupied estates, operating schools and trading retail premises demands more than a good finish. It requires site safety, controlled access, predictable scheduling and crews who can work around residents, pupils and customers without incident. That is the part of this trade that takes decades to learn.
Our Workmanship Warranty
Every completed project carries a three-year workmanship warranty. After 32 years of trading we are still here to honour it — which is not something every contractor quoting your job can say.

Michael and Ingrid Westbrook wrote in to thank the team after a full interior and exterior repaint of their home in Palm Springs Village.
“Your Company has recently completed a comprehensive painting of our house in Palm Springs Village both interior and exterior. The entire process was completed with a minimum of fuss and disruption. In particular your regular inspections were very reassuring and resulted in an excellent finish. Furthermore your team of painters, ably led by your foreman Themba, was excellent — they were polite, helpful and unobtrusive. I would highly recommend Performance Painting to anyone needing painting and redecorating.”
Michael and Ingrid Westbrook, Palm Springs Village
Our Terms of Contract
Every quotation we issue is governed by our written Terms and Conditions of Contract, signed before work begins. Read our Terms & Conditions or download the signed version (PDF).
Why This Matters
Accreditation is not decoration. It determines whether a contractor can be held to account, whether your body corporate’s insurer will accept the work, and whether anyone will answer the phone in three years’ time if something goes wrong.
Every claim on this page can be independently verified. We encourage you to do so — and to ask the same of anyone else quoting your project.
