This policy explains what personal information Performance Painting Contractors CC collects through this website and when you contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

  • When you ask for a quote through the form on this website: your name, email address, phone number, the services you are interested in and anything you write in your message.
  • When you WhatsApp, call or email us: your phone number or email address and what you tell us about your project.
  • When we quote for or carry out work: the site address, the contact details of the people we deal with, and the details we need to quote, contract and invoice.
  • When you browse this website: technical information such as your device and browser, your approximate location, the pages you view and whether you arrived from one of our adverts. See Cookies and similar technologies below.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quotation.
  • To plan, carry out and invoice the work you ask us to do, and to honour our workmanship warranty.
  • To keep the records the law requires us to keep, such as tax records.
  • To understand how people use our website and which adverts bring enquiries, so that we can improve both.

We use your information only for these purposes. We do not sell it, and we do not send marketing newsletters.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with people and service providers who need it, and only as far as they need it:

  • our website host in South Africa, where quote-form enquiries are stored;
  • Google (Google Ads and Google Analytics) and Meta (the Facebook advertising pixel, and WhatsApp when you message us);
  • specialist subcontractors working on your project, who receive only the details they need to do their part of the job;
  • our accountants, auditors and insurers where this is needed;
  • authorities, where the law requires it.

Information sent outside South Africa

Google and Meta may process information on servers outside South Africa. They are bound by their own data-protection terms, which we rely on to give your information protection comparable to POPIA.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website uses:

  • Google Ads conversion tracking — tells us when someone who clicked one of our Google adverts asks for a quote, taps our phone number or opens WhatsApp. It does not tell us who you are.
  • Google Analytics — counts visits and shows which pages are used, so that we can improve the website.
  • Meta (Facebook) pixel — measures visits that come from Facebook and Instagram.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage personalised adverts in Google’s ad settings. The website still works if you block cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, including the warranty period. We keep quotations, contracts and invoices for as long as the law requires. After that we delete or destroy them.

How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe. The website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us:

  • whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
  • to correct information that is wrong or out of date;
  • to delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
  • to stop using your information for a particular purpose, or to withdraw a consent you gave us.
